Zentoni number six went back to black and white. This one has a focus. There was a point where it all started. Its life began. It is the heart of the drawing although it doesn’t look like a heart in the traditional sense. Look for it. Focus your intention on the drawing and see if you can find or feel the heart point. It’s a lot like life. Through all the chaos and noise that surrounds us, if we just take a moment to breathe and focus, we can always find our heart, our center. The heart will take us to that space where we are grounded and calm. It is our connection to that higher self that is sometimes overshadowed by our ego. Today, take a moment to drop into your heart center and feel the love and peace that is there always. Namaste.
Lake Lure, North Carolina, March 2013

I just got back from a vacation at Lake Lure, North Carolina. It is a beautiful lake nestled in the Carolina mountains. March weather is still unpredictable. One day it is warm and sunny and the next day the clouds cover the mountains and the gray bare trees blend into the landscape creating quite a monochromatic mood. This particular morning the sun was out, but looks can be deceiving! The windy beach was void of life. The only sounds I could hear were the lapping waves and the call of the birds high above.
As I looked at this lonely pier, I thought about how life can be like this image. Sometimes we are presented with challenges or opportunities and we don’t know what the outcome will be. No matter how many times we think it through or how many scenarios we create, the only way to know the outcome is to make a move. Take a step off the pier of life! It can be scary to leave a safe place, but life is meant to be an adventure! Stop waiting for “if” and “when”. After all, you don’t know what tomorrow will bring.
“WITH ONLY A FEW SECONDS of focusing your attention on a subject, you activate the vibration of that subject within you, and immediately the Law of Attraction begins to respond to that activation. The longer you keep your attention focused on something, the easier it becomes for you to continue to focus upon it because you are attracting, through the Law of Attraction, other thoughts or vibrations that are the essence of the thought you began with.”

As I was walking by the river, the sparkle of the water through the trees caught my eye. Again using my iPhone, I just stopped for a few minutes and watched the light dance as the river continued its journey through Nashville. I thought about the quote above, and so for 68 seconds I just sat and focused on the light and my breath. For 68 seconds my mind was clear and quiet. Try it. You will be amazed how good you will feel, even if it’s for just 68 seconds!
I don’t like war for any reason, but I have never understood how people can fight and destroy nations and lives in the name of God. It makes no sense to me. Enough said.
Sometimes when I walk, it is with a vengeance. I always watch the path carefully, trying not to step on any small creature. A few weeks ago I saw several snails which I carefully avoided. I wanted to take a photo but I didn’t. I didn’t want to stop the flow! Today I saw another snail and today so I whipped out my trusty iPhone and stopped to take a photo. I had to get down to his level. On hands and knees I watched him as he moved ever so slowly across the path. Does he know that at any second he could be sent to the afterlife by a speeding bike or an unconscious deer? Probably not.
I looked up the meaning of snail as a totem animal. The following info came from a website about totem animals. The site has lots of great info if you are interested. http://www.starstuffs.com/animal_totems/.
Snail teaches you to move smoothly in your surroundings. Pacing oneself, persistence, perseverance, focus, determination and strength. Snail shows that taking small steps is the way to reach current goals. Ease of navigation through life’s obstacles, tenacity and holding power and the art of timing. Pay close attention to your feelings and inner knowings. Is it time to retreat and rest? Or is time to come out of your shell and go forth? Snail demonstrates the proper use of defense mechanisms, the power of letting go, and the ability to cushion oneself in life’s circumstance especially on the home front. It may be a time to be more protective and nurturing and beautify the surroundings and home with sensory stimuli. Snail teaches flexibility and completion of endeavors along with balancing emotions and equalizing one’s duality. Slowing down will bring balance and harmony and restore peace within. When snail comes to you it offers an opportunity to show a graceful balance in life is possible.
Sometimes animals show up in our lives to remind us of something we have forgotten or help us to solve a life problem. Maybe we just need to pay attention.
Here’s a couple more iPhone photos for you to enjoy.
“Peace Rose, Peace Grows” This rose is from my husband Dan’s rose garden. This year the roses were so beautiful. In the spring they seemed to bloom like never before. My mom passed away in April 2011, her name was Theda Rose….need I say more! She used to always tell me, “Toni, you need to slow down, you need to stop and smell the roses!” I’m listening now Theda Rose!
“Morning Meditation” The next photo was also taken with the iPhone on my walk early one morning at Shelby Bottoms. Walking in nature is my meditation. Find your own way to connect to spirit and do it every day. See and feel the powerful energy in nature. Peace
