My husband and I went to visit my mother in law today for Mothers Day. She has a bluebird house and I went to check it out. I saw this little face cautiously looking out the hole. I had never seen a baby bluebird. Gotta love the iPhone 7, what a great camera! After lunch we came back out to the patio. Someone looked over and there right beside the concrete, peering at us in the grass was the little bird! He must’ve made his first flight! I think he was looking for me! Smile!
We talked to him and watched him and after a few minutes he took off! Very wobbly, not very experienced yet. He went around the house and landed again on the ground. We watched for an hour or so while his mom flew near and answered his calls. The dad, a brilliant blue, was helping as well. They stayed near, coaxing, and keeping him safe. Unfortunately we had to leave before he flew away for his new life.
My mom loved bluebirds. She got so excited when they would find their way to her house. I was missing her today. She passed away 6 years ago a few days before Mothers Day. When I saw these birds I knew, like the momma bluebird, my mom is always close. I can’t see her but I can feel her! I know she loves me and watches over me still. Coincidence? I don’t think so! Thank you all the moms for all you do!
