I just read an article by photographer Jason Bradley in which he commented about how often we photographers get caught up in the gear. He stresses that we look at the scene. Think about what we want our viewers to see. What do you want to say? He says to pay attention to the first thought, the first thing that caught your eye. As I made my walk down to the beach for sunrise I remembered what I had read. Thank you Jason! This morning it was about color. Pure and simple. The change of color and the absolute brilliance and fire, that was my subject.
I saw pictures of myself on my Yellowstone trip and I looked so weighed down by the cameras hanging off my body. Really, did I need three? I brought my tripod to the beach. Never even opened it.
So here is sunrise today.
