Coffee with a view! Our day started as all days on the island should, with a coffee and a gorgeous view from Skull’s Landing. Dan and I decided to walk into town for some shopping and lunch.
Lunch was at Muelleazul looking out at the water.
The coast guard and Naval yards are there to keep us safe!
It started to rain so we had to stop off for a cocktail while the showers passed. Isle is an interesting place. There are nice hotels and restaurants and right next door it looks like third world. I would like to learn more history about this place. The Americans who live here say there are lots of charities and things to get involved in.
We came back to the room and took a nap to get ready for the celebration to come.
We slept late on Sunday. That’s one of the perks of island life! Jimmy, Teresa, Dan and I ate wonderful breakfast at Mango’s, starting with a mango mimosa. Yummy! We stopped at the Mercado, the local Walmart and bought some groceries for the week. A big rainstorm called for an afternoon nap. Then we went down to the bar to eat and watch the Titans game. Sunday is rib night at Skull’s and they were so tender they melted in your mouth! Titans lost boohoo, but watching in paradise made it easier to accept defeat!
Above: Mango’s restaurant, breakfast enchiladas(beans, carrots, cheese, cabbage) and huevos rancheros (eggs over plantains and mole sauce)
Skull’s ribs and Dan and Jimmy, disappointed Titans fans. We have never watched a Titans game at a beach bar in Mexico!
