I started my day with coffee and a new friend. There are several of these guys who patrol Skull’s and keep it safe from other pesky creatures. I got some great shots on the Fuji camera but for some reason it’s not communicating with the phone, so all the photos you are seeing were taken on the iPhone XR. The camera on this phone is excellent.
Dan and I took the can-am to explore the island. Dan made a quick friend.
We ventured down to the Caribbean side and walked the rocky beach. I found some great rocks. Hope I don’t have to buy another suitcase to get them home.
The cemetery was quite intriguing. They are buried above ground of course, and the graves are highly decorated and loving memorials to the ancestors. I can imagine that the Day of the Dead is an amazing event to experience.
After that we drove the road that circles the island. We stopped back at Suenos to quench our thirst and get a bite.
Another stop at the store for coffee and wine and back to Skull’s for the siesta.
We met Teresa and Jimmy for dinner by the bay. If the first day of 2019 is any indication of the rest of the year, well all I can say is wow! I am so grateful to have this opportunity and such wonderful friends, and an incredible family. Happy New Year to all!
Giant plate of chicken nachos to start.
I know, these look weird. They are Brussels sprouts tacos with deep fried spinach! They were yummy! I ate my first brussel sprout ever. And I’m sure they were healthy too!
Lastly were the coconut shrimp tacos. Needless to say we do not go to bed hungry!
